For the past four years, we’ve stretched our development and production money further than anyone thought possible. We’ve shot at conferences of romance authors and readers, ventured behind the scenes at publishing offices and into the homes of New York Times Bestselling authors, and tagged along on exclusive trips with romance authors and their readers.

We have learned so much from our experiences in the romance community and have done all of this thanks to the generosity of our Kickstarter backers, individual donors, the National Endowment for the Humanities, Mass Humanities, the Nora Roberts Foundation, the Freed Foundation, and the Romance Writers of America. The film is now finished. But we borrowed funds for the finishing stages, and the publicity costs that come with distribution are substantial. Blueberry Hill Productions needs funds to help bring Love Between the Covers to a screen where you can watch it: at theaters, community events, your desk, or in your living room.

If you’re as excited as we are to put this film out into the world, you can donate now by clicking the button below. Because Love Between the Covers is a part of the Popular Romance Project, which is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, your donation is tax deductible.

Your money will be used for:

Marketing  •  OUTREACH  •  Film festival submission  •  ADAPTING THE FILM FOR FOREIGN MARKETS  •  MAKING COPIES FOR DIGITAL PROJECTION  •  Getting the film to a theater near you

Even if you can’t donate, please understand that you have our deepest gratitude and utmost respect. Your enthusiasm for this project is just as important as any donation. Thank you!

– Laurie Kahn, Blueberry Hill Productions

I believe that romance is really dangerous, because it gives women ideas of what a great relationship looks like. In the early 19th century, it gave the middle class ideas about social mobility and that was extremely threatening.
